Sharing My (Our) Story

I am sharing this with select friends for now, but someday, maybe I'll share it with a bigger group. These friends are people who are partners in prayer, and some are friends I know are going through the same fertility issues, or who have been there before.

I debated whether I'll share the cost of doing IVF. In the end, I decided to include it so people who are considering it will know the financial requirement to undergo this process. Anyway, as far as Kato is concerned, the cost of services is posted on their website. It is not a big secret. IVF is emotionally, physically and financially taxing. It is definitely not for everyone. That's why it took us a long time to decide to go for it.

7th Week

October 29, 2015 | Today, I am already 7 weeks pregnant. I had an afternoon appointment this time. I was only tested for Progesterone, plus another ultrasound to check on the heartbeat.

Praise God! My results are great. Progesterone has doubled and is now at 14.29. Because of this, I was not given Progesterone shots anymore. Baby's heartbeat is now at 126bpm which is what we are looking for. Woohoo! Hang in there little one!

I have two tablets of Progynova left and I was asked to just take that in the next two days and that's it. I still need to take Duphaston and Utrogestan three times a day.

My next visit will be ten days later, on November 8th. Then I graduate from Kato. I will then be turned over to my OB.

Actually, I went to my OB already last Tuesday, just to update her and check if there's anything I should be taking or not taking. She didn't give me any additional vitamins since I am already taking all the essentials - Calcium, Iron, Folate, plus fish oil. She just gave me a list of food I should be avoiding. She also gave me the go signal to do prenatal Pilates! Yahoo. This was confirmed by my Kato doctor. Yes! She told me she'll see me in a month.

Anyway, today's expense is Php6,206.
Progesterone Test - 1,456
Consultation - 560
Ultrasound - 560
Duphaston (30) - 1,960
Utrogestan (30) - 1,680

Let's keep praying!
