Sharing My (Our) Story

I am sharing this with select friends for now, but someday, maybe I'll share it with a bigger group. These friends are people who are partners in prayer, and some are friends I know are going through the same fertility issues, or who have been there before.

I debated whether I'll share the cost of doing IVF. In the end, I decided to include it so people who are considering it will know the financial requirement to undergo this process. Anyway, as far as Kato is concerned, the cost of services is posted on their website. It is not a big secret. IVF is emotionally, physically and financially taxing. It is definitely not for everyone. That's why it took us a long time to decide to go for it.

Hallelujah! We have a heartbeat!

October 23, 2015 | I was in the clinic just before 7am. I got my queue number and headed out to Starbucks to get some breakfast of bagel and a bottle of water. Yep, no more coffee for this expectant mom. I can't believe I am saying it. I am an expectant mom!

To cut the long story short, we did get a heartbeat today. I saw the little white blip beating on the ultrasound monitor. I couldn't stop looking at it. Right now, it's beating 103 beats per minute. We want it to be at least 120 in the next visit. This is really happening! Glory to God!

My progesterone is still low, in fact, a bit lower (6.28) than my last visit (7.91). So I was given Proluton shots again, and my Utrogestan dose was increased to three times a day. My Progynova is down to once a day, while Duphaston is still at three times a day.

Total bill this visit is Php10,018.09.
Hormone Tests - 5,488 (a bit higher now because my HCG level is already very high and they had to read the levels differently)
Proluton - 1,120
Consultation - 560
Ultrasound - 560
Duphaston (18) - 1,170
Utrogestan (20) - 1,120

Next visit will be on October 29th. Let's keep praying!
